Sun, Fun & Familia

This week I was fortunate enough to stay on the Pacific coast of Guatemala, where the sun shines intensely during the hot days and the ocean breezes are cool at night. The beaches here are black volcanic sand that quickly disappears into the constant surf.

Staying in my cousin's home, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to be surrounded by so many creative individuals. My cousin's husband is an architect and as a result their beach house is rich with unique artistic touches.

My cousin is also a talented seamstress in her own right. She has lovingly created so many of the colourful textiles around the house. Not unlike my own mother who made so many of our clothes as children. I feel grateful to be surrounded by so many creative and industrious women.
