Second-life Pouches are made in Toronto, Canada from up-cycled vintage textiles called huipils sourced from Guatemala. Huipils are tunic style garments worn day-to-day by Mayan women all over the country. The brocade patterns are unique to each region and town. This pattern is from Santa Catarina Palopo, on the shores Lake Atítlan, in the Guatemalan Highlands. Each huipil yields only a few pouches, and each one is truly unique.
